The Salvation Army is a Christian organization that gives hope and support to vulnerable people in 400 communities across Canada and in 134 countries. The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and serves as the guide for faith and practice.
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who lived a sinless life, died for the sins of humanity, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. Salvation is possible only through faith in Him.
We believe that salvation is a gift from God, available to all people, based on repentance, faith in Jesus Christ, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the need for personal holiness and sanctification, which involves a continuous process of becoming more like Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that humanity was created good but fell into sin through disobedience. As a result, all people are born with a sinful nature and need redemption.
We believe in eternal life for those who believe in Jesus and eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.
